Divine De Waterkant.
Posted on September 18th, 2009 4 comments
Gorgeous, quaint and colourful semi-detached houses line the meandering streets of De Waterkant. The preciously preserved village of the 1760s is home to the guest house – 17 on Loader, which lies at the heart of this connoisseur corner of the city. De Waterkant’s old, august architecture is something to be seen, but it’s what lines the incline that makes De Waterkant as “divine” as it is.
De Waterkant, meaning the waterside, is cradled between Cape Town , Greenpoint and the Waterfront – giving it a remarkable view of Cape Town. Cobble stones underfoot, the district is a maze of exceptional restaurants, galleries, salsa clubs, tapas bars and bistros – not forgetting the Parisian cafe`s and top class nightspots.
Breathing in some life and luster is Cape Town’s pink strip – De Waterkant is known as the “divine” hub of Cape Town’s gay community – and they come well-armed with the charm of wonderful nightclubs and bars in the area.

We bring you this Divine De Waterkant blog series – where we explore the tailor-made, five-star, gourmet experience that is De Waterkant. So keep up while we delve into divine De Waterkant and all the delicacies it’s bejeweled with!
